On May 20, 2022, the European Commission published an initiative on its official website regarding substances restricted under the RoHS Directive. The proposal would add tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBP-A) and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) to the RoHS restricted substances list. The proposed initiative is expected to be adopted in the fourth quarter of 2022. Final control requirements will be determined by the final decision of the European Commission. SGS recommends that companies continue to monitor our newsletters and develop appropriate control strategies in advance.
