On January 6, 2025, the EU submitted a notification to the WTO/TBT regarding proposed changes to the RoHS exclusion provisions, with consultation open until March 7, 2025. The notification concerns exemptions 6(a), 6(a)-I, 6(b), 6(b)-I, 6(b)-II, 6(c), 7(a), 7(c)-I, and 7(c)-II of Annex III to Directive 2011/65/EU, which exclude lead in alloys, high-melting-point solders, and electronic components.
